Purpose & Participate
I want to create a supportive community to give a voice to the sufferer, and a road map for those who want to love them well when there’s nothing to do. I will unpack each flying lesson, hard-won lessons gleaned from 17 years of suffering.
I live with PTSD, paralysis and chronic pain. All as a result of the morning my mother died. There are days when the pain is honest-to-god, literal torture. It is so painful I can’t see or think or eat or sleep. I am angry and frustrated and sad when I can’t do the things I want to do because my arm refuses to move. And the PTSD symptoms swarm in my brain without warning.
But I am not alone. There are others, even some reading this, who are deep in the dark swamp. Support comes in many forms. Some are obvious like friends, family, church, support groups and even a councilor. Others are not as obvious. Your body protects you. The earth and sun and gravity envelop you. Your own breath can give you life.
I am here to support you, and I invite you to participate. I invite you to risk movement. Movement begins with support. Do you feel the support, the energy surrounding you? Breathe, breathe it in, and feel life fill you core.
Now, can you risk it? The shift… Oh, that tiny shift cannot be ignored as a bright bead of light pops through. Light brings life. And life brings hope. And hope brings love. And love cannot be denied.
Love destroys fear.
Movement begins with support, and ends in freedom.
